"I am compelled to stand up and protect the children in our community.

I will not stand by!"

ABOUT ME

MY MOTIVATION

"I am compelled to stand up and protect the children" in our community. I could simply look the other way and not step out of my comfort zone, but this is the community where my family and people I care about live. Children are a precious gift of God and we as a community have the privilege and responsibility to care for them, protect them and value them. I want to represent you, be an advocate, and voice for teachers, students, parents, and community members. I'll work to preserve D155 parent(s) rights and ability of educators to teach academics not agendas.

Awakened by COVID

As a Pharmacist, I knew something wasn't right about the Covid mandates. I became outspoken when Covid restrictions were implemented. I spoke at D155 school board meetings and opposed the decisions implemented to restrict access to in person education, mandating masks, testing and social distancing. I also opposed the additional restrictions placed on those who chose not to be vaccinated.  I have used that same voice to oppose sexualizing our children.

That battle is not over as our state has created bill HB 5188 to make it mandatory for districts verses opt out option. My commitment would be to help establish and/or preserve standards and boundaries related to curriculum, policies, fiscal responsibilities, teacher and parent involvement and influence.

MY BACKGROUND

I grew up in nearby suburbs and have been a resident within the district going on 25 years.

My husband and I are proud parents to two children, both of whom attended D47 and D155 schools. My youngest graduated from high school last year. Both are attending college. One of which is seeking a degree in education. I enjoyed being a volunteer coach for both boys and girls youth basketball and girls softball when my kids were younger. It was a wonderful opportunity to work with children and see each child build upon their abilities and develop confidence in themselves.

I am a Senior Clinical Advisor and support employer clients across the country. In addition to working with external clients, I also work with numerous cross functional internal teams to obtain issue resolution and implement and/or create proactive solutions. This background and experience has uniquely prepared me to work with other School Board members to guide the education of all of our children.

MY PROMISE

I will LISTEN to the voices of teachers, students, parents, and community members. Our differences should not impact the ability for us to connect. I will work tirelessly to engage D155 parent(s) and educators to focus on academic instruction, not agendas.

I NEED YOUR HELP

I will not be able to do this alone and will need our community as key stake holders to be active participants in this journey and in essence have a seat at the table. I am thankful for D155 administration staff, teachers and children. Let’s continue to pursue excellence by elevating the standard for everyone and be bold, courageous and brave together along the way.
