ACADEMICS

"Are You Confident of District 155 Academic Performance?"

It's time to lift ALL students to higher levels of academic achievement for future prosperity.

D155 Academic Performance

  • 39% English /Language Arts Proficiency (ELA)

  • 41% Math Proficiency

  • 66% Science Proficiency

These are not impressive scores. Yet the district's 2020/21 Annual Report posted on the district 155 site states that per US News Report is in the top 10% of the High Schools in the nation.

View D155 Academic Performance and other information at the Illinois School Report Card site.

Looking at the proficiency rates above there are opportunities to reevaluate the curriculum and education standards.

"I'll work with other school board members, teachers and parents to improve performance scores."

CAREER EDCUATION AND HIGHER EDUCATION PREPARATION

Cultivating a strong academic based curriculum is what will help reduce the chasm of achievement gap that exists.

It is extremely important to understand and know what and how the children are being taught at school.

SOCIAL AGENDAS

Are your expectations for children to have instruction with an emphasis on academics or social constructs that have a non- academic focus (SEL (equity), gender fluidity, and Sex Education).

What's at the Barrington Schools?
Below is a video that highlights what types of Books currently are at Barrington schools. And yes, D155 libraries has some of the same books mentioned.

Vote for me if you are not in favor of spending tax dollars for
books that explicitly describe and show pictures of inappropriate sexual acts that have been banned from school board meetings due to their graphic nature.

View the video and review these books. Do your own research.

TEACHERS and PARENTS

I'll work with teachers and parents to evaluate and improve the curriculum. Teachers are faced with many obstacles and need to be supported. Eliminate any non-academic instruction. Teachers and Parents need to be part of the solution.

Fiscal Responsibility.jpg

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

"Whatever Happened to Fiscal Responsibility?"

McHenry County is number 27 out of over 3400 Counties in the United States of the highest property taxes. Of those taxes, 60-80% go towards education. Higher performing schools increase the value of your home. Great schools are a significant benefit to the community.

"I'll dig into the district's finances and ask, "How can we reduce property taxes?"

Declining Enrollment, Increasing Cost Per Student
During 2019-2022, enrollment has declined from 5,915 to 5,442 (a reduction of 473 students). However, Cost per Student has risen from $15,400 to $17,826, an increase of $2,426.

"I commit to assessing the district's finances and asking, "How can we effectively reduce costs?"

"I will work to direct funds to improve Academic Performance and not for pornographic books."

Vote for me if you are not in favor of spending tax dollars for books that explicitly describe and show pictures of inappropriate sexual acts that have been banned from school board meetings due to their graphic nature.

Parental involvement 4_edited.jpg

PARENT INVOLVEMENT

"I'll work to help the School Board regain the parent's trust."

To regain trust:

  • Inform parents prior to ANY survey of any kind.

  • Provide parents the ability to OPT OUT students of surveys. There are even mini surveys regarding how a child is “feeling”.

  • Offer parents the ability to review curriculum without hindrance.

  • Advise parents of updates to the National Sex Education instruction. Provide ease of access to OPT OUT forms.

  • Inform parents BEFORE any medical /health interactions and/or interventions.

I'll Represent You by Asking:

  • "What are schools doing with the data they have already collected and continue to collect?"

  • "Why are parents intentionally being excluded?

  • "Will the school move to Opt-in to the new Sex standards without an opposing voice?" FYI: At Bernotas middle school in D47, eighth graders were taught about anal sex and were given a survey regarding their sex life.

  • "What are our D155 high schoolers being taught?"

  • "How much was spent on the new Equity Journey program?"
